Adelphi University Announces Dean's List for Fall 2018
A select group of outstanding students has been named to the fall 2018 Dean's List at Adelphi University. Adelphi's deans of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business, Nursing, Social Work and Psychology recognize superior academic work every semester. The Dean's List comprises full-time students-registered for 12 or more credits-who have completed at least 9 graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester. This recognition becomes part of the student's academic record and is entered into the individual's transcript.

Bloomsburg University Students Present at COST Research Day
Students from the Bloomsburg University College of Science and Technology presented their research to an audience of students, faculty and alumni on April 26, during the COST Research Day at Bloomsburg University. Over 80 students from 11 fields of study showcased with their work in the Andruss Library throughout the day on a wide range of topics, from Cosmic Ray Activity at the Dusk of the 24th Solar Cycle to Evaluating the Neurological Phenotype of 15q13.3 Deletions. Research Day began in the morning with candidates for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) exhibiting their work, and continued with a poster session in the Harvey A. Andruss Library where 58 students presented their research and were judged by a panel of alumni and faculty. Mr. Duane Greenly '72 of Stella Point Capital gave the keynote address The Importance of Search in Research, where he highlighted the importance of curiosity in research and experiences that lie outside the academic classroom. "Research Day embodies two primary elements of the scientific enterprise: inquiry and communication" explained Dean of the College of Science and Technology, Dr. Robert Aronstam "Science is not an academic subject, knowledge, or even truth; rather, it is an iterative process of observation, experimentation, and hypothesis formation and by which we advance our understanding of the world around us." COST Research Days is part of the Professional U experience at Bloomsburg University which connects students with alumni, employers, and opportunities that integrate academics with experiential learning. Through professional development experiences, students build the skills and confidence that prepare them for personal and professional success in an increasingly complex global environment.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

Wilkes University Students in College of Science and Engineering Present Senior Projects
Wilkes University electrical and mechanical engineering majors presented their senior projects and demonstrated them at an event on April 28. It was attended by faculty, friends and family. Engineering students in the University's College of Science and Engineering are required to complete a senior project as part of the requirements to complete their degrees.

Bloomsburg University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry End of Year Awards
The Bloomsburg University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry held its annual end of the year awards ceremony on April 22. Department chairman Gregory Zimmerman, Ph.D., presented awards to its top students. In all nine students were recognized. Kutztown University Inducts 10 into Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society for Graduate and Professional Students
Kutztown University inducted 10 students into its 2019 class of Alpha Epsilon Lambda, National Honor Society for Graduate and Professional Students, at its annual induction ceremony on Wednesday, May 1. Kutztown University is the home of the Gamma Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda. This chapter marked the founding of the first honor society solely for graduate students in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The mission of the organization is to confer distinction for high achievement, promote leadership development, promote scholarship and encourage intellectual development, enrich the intellectual environment of graduate institutions and encourage high standards of ethical behavior. Graduate students seeking membership in the Gamma Chapter at Kutztown University must have completed a minimum of 12 graduate semester hours, attain a graduate quality point average in the upper 35 percent of all graduate students currently enrolled at the university and provide a record of leadership and service to the campus and the community.

Bloomsburg University Forensics Team places fifth at Pennsylvania Forensic Association (PFA) Championship
The Bloomsburg University Forensic (Speech and Debate team) won the fifth place Team Sweepstakes trophy at the 2019 Pennsylvania Forensic Association (PFA) Championship Tournament held at Lafayette College on Feb. 16-17, 2019. Bloomsburg competed against Wilkes University, Lafayette College, St. Joseph's University, Penn State University, West Chester University, and Grove City College. Six of eleven Bloomsburg University students won speech and debate awards at the state tournament.

Kutztown University Announces Fall 2018 Degree Recipients
Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80.
